1. Use a third-party uninstaller
While installing AVG antivirus you can sometimes install AVG PC Tuneup as well, since two applications are often bundled.
If you have AVG install error 0xc0070643, you need to remove AVG PC Tuneup tools from your PC.
To complete the uninstall process, you need to make sure all software leftovers and stubborn apps are removed from your PC. The easiest way to do this is with the help of uninstaller software.
2. Repair your registry
Users reported that error 0xc0070643 can appear due to problems with your registry. It seems that there are certain registry permission problems that prevent you from installing AVG.
To fix this problem, you need to download and install a third-party registry cleaner and DLL fixer on your PC. After problems with the registry are resolved, restart your PC and try to install AVG again.
3. Use the AVG Remover tool
If you get installation error 0xc0070643, one of the ways to fix it is to run AVG Remover tool. During the installation process, some AVG files will be stored on your PC.
Those files can interfere with future attempts to install AVG, therefore it’s crucial to remove those files.
To do that, you need to download AVG Remover. Run the tool and wait until it removes the previous installation of AVG.
After the tool removes AVG installation, restart your PC and check if the problem is resolved.
Some users are also suggesting to shut down your PC after you use this tool and turn it back on again, so you might want to try that as well.
Download AVG Reset Access tool
Users are also suggesting downloading AVG Reset Access tool. After downloading the tool, run it and check if the problem is resolved.
Another tool that users are recommending is the AVG BFE Fix tool. Simply download AVG BFE Fix, run it and it should fix the problem.
After using all three tools, AVG install error 0xc0070643 should be resolved. We have to mention that few users reported that this method didn’t work for them.
According to them, the AVG Remover tool didn’t fix the problem, and they were still getting 0xc0070643 description: event exec_finished error while trying to install AVG.
To fix this problem, you need to run AVG Remover from Safe Mode. To do that, follow these steps:
- Open the Start Menu and click the Power button.
- Hold the Shift key on your keyboard and choose the Restart option from the menu.
- Now you’ll see three options available. Choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup settings and click the Restart button.
- When your PC restarts, you’ll see a list of options available. Choose Safe Mode with Networking by pressing F5 on your keyboard.
Once the Safe Mode starts, all third-party applications and drivers will be disabled, so there’s nothing that will interfere with the AVG Removal tool.
Simply run the tool and follow the instructions on the screen to remove AVG. After doing that, restart your PC and try to install AVG once again.
4. Download and install the offline version of AVG
If you can’t install AVG antivirus due to error 0xc0070643, you might want to try using the offline installation.
AVG, just like many other programs, uses an online installation that downloads the necessary files as you install the application.
This makes downloading AVG a bit faster since the setup file is only a few MB in size, but this method has its flaws.
If there’s any problem with your Internet connection or with AVG’s servers, your installation might fail, and you’ll get error 0xc0070643.
To avoid this problem, it’s recommended that you try using an offline installer.
This installer is significantly larger in size, and it will take you a couple of minutes more to download the setup file, but you should be able to avoid this error completely by using this method.
You can download the offline installation from AVG’s website or from a reliable third-party source.
Keep in mind that offline installation might be hidden in AVG’s download section, so you’ll need to look carefully for it.
5. Remove AVG entries from the registry
According to users, they were unable to install AVG due to problems in their registry.
Apparently, there are some AVG instances in their registry that can prevent AVG from installing, and in order to fix that, you need to remove those instances manually.

In order to install AVG, SYSTEM needs to have certain privileges. To do that, follow these steps:

- Go to the Security tab click Edit button.
- Select SYSTEM from the list, and make sure that Full control option in Allow column is checked.
- Click Apply and OK to save changes.
If this process seems a bit complicated to you, you can use the AVG Reset Access tool to change permission settings with just a few clicks.
7. Disable all other antivirus/firewall tools
Antivirus tools are necessary if you want to keep your PC protected from malicious users, but it’s usually a bad practice to have multiple antivirus tools or firewalls installed.
Different security tools can sometimes interfere with each other, and in some cases, security tools can even prevent you from installing AVG antivirus.
According to users, AVG install error 0xc0070643 is caused by other antivirus tools, so before you try to install AVG, be sure to disable or uninstall other third-party antivirus or firewall tools.

Few users reported 0xc0070643 description: event exec_finished error message while installing AVG antivirus, and according to them, this message was caused by the lack of hard drive space.
Users reported that the installation error was resolved after freeing some space on their C drive.

We have to mention that AVG doesn’t take 4GB of storage space, but it requires this space to be available on your C drive in order to work properly.
10. Change Antivirus
In case you’ve tried out all of the solutions, yet nothing seemed to help, there’s always the option of changing AVG Antivirus with an entirely new antivirus tool.
