If you have been waiting for Season 2 of Battlefield 6, sadly, it has just been delayed. EA, in a blog post from earlier today, says that Season 1 will be extended, pushing the launch of Season 2 to February 17. The decision comes as the studio is looking to polish upcoming content while staying in line with community feedback.

Since launch, Battlefield 6 and its free-to-play experience, REDSEC, have seen massive engagement. According to the developers, millions of players either returned to the franchise or jumped in for the first time, marking the most successful launch in Battlefield history.

Season 1 itself has been busy, with players seeing the surprise arrival of REDSEC, the California Resistance storyline, and the Winter Offensive event to close out the year. Multiple patches were also rolled out along the way to address balance and stability concerns.

Originally set to end on January 20, Season 1 will now continue beyond that date. On January 20, Battlefield 6 will receive a Season 1 extension update. This update adds new weekly challenges, a Bonus Path, and keeps the current Battle Pass active until Season 2 goes live.

EA also confirmed it is doubling down on Battlefield Labs. For the uninitiated, the program will serve as a public testing ground for late-stage updates. All that said, you can expect more details on Battle 6 Season 2 in February, alongside a detailed 2026 roadmap for Battlefield 6 and REDSEC.
