Build 23506 microsoft 365

Good news from Windows 11 users this week: Build 23506 is live on the Dev Channel and it brings with it a lot of new features, as well as an important improvement your Windows 11 devices will greatly benefit from.

Among the new features, you’ll be able to have a passwordless experience with Windows Hello for Business. As you might know, Microsoft announced this feature a while ago, and now you can experience it on the Dev Channel.

Now, Windows 11 will be able to warn you about unsafe passwords in a new feature on this build. You’ll also be able to send files much quicker now because Microsoft released the Local File Sharing Improvements feature, giving you quick access to your Outlook and other file-sharing methods.

And speaking of Outlook, this build also sees the New Outlook for Windows as an inbox app. According to Microsoft, with the new Outlook for Windows, you can connect work and personal emails, calendars, and contacts in one secure place.

However, it seems that Build 23506 has one flaw, though. As spotted by Windows enthusiast @PhantomOfEarth, the latest Windows 11 update pins Microsoft 365 to the taskbar.

Build 23506 has Microsoft 365 pinned in the taskbar

It seems that Microsoft 365 is pinned in the taskbar in Build 23506, but we don’t know yet if you can unpin it from there.Build 23506 microsoft 365

According to another Windows enthusiast, @XenoPanther, Microsoft used to do this in previous builds. For example, in Build 25217, released in October 2022, Microsoft Office is seen pinned in the taskbar as well.

While we don’t know for sure why this happens, it might be a way for Microsoft to further promote its products, including Microsoft 365. This comes in light of recent news, especially considering that the Redmond-based tech giant announced the Microsoft 365 Copilot pricing.

So this might be part of a marketing strategy for Windows Insiders. Who knows, but for now you can unpin the app.

Can you see it in the taskbar in the Dev Channel? What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments section below.
