Xbox is adding another major Call of Duty game to Game Pass, giving players another shot at one of the franchise’s most divisive entries. Released in 2020, Cold War takes the series back to the early 1980s. The campaign follows familiar Black Ops characters while introducing a new hunt for the mysterious Perseus.

The game also packs multiplayer and Zombies modes. Xbox currently lists the standalone game at $59.99, while the Cross-Gen Bundle is priced at $69.99.

That makes its Game Pass release especially interesting for players who skipped the game at launch. Rather than buying the full game, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can access it through their existing membership.

Cold War sits between the classic Black Ops games and the franchise’s newer entries. Its campaign mixes historical events with the series’ usual fictional twists.

The Xbox version also supports cross-platform multiplayer, 4K Ultra HD, HDR10, and up to 120fps on supported hardware. With another Call of Duty now entering Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft continues expanding the subscription’s appeal around its biggest gaming franchise.
