ChatGPT May Soon Mimic Your Writing Style Across Emails and Documents

ChatGPT Writing Style could let users make AI-generated text sound more like their own writing by learning from examples stored in connected apps.

OpenAI is testing the feature with a small group of users. It can reference existing content from supported services and use those examples to help ChatGPT “write in your voice.”

ChatGPT can learn from Gmail, Slack, Google Drive, and Notion

Writing Style can pull examples from several connected apps across messaging, documents, and email.

Supported sources currently include Slack for messaging, Google Drive and Notion for documents, and Gmail for email.

ChatGPT could analyze how users normally structure sentences, phrase ideas, and communicate across these services, then apply a similar style when generating new content.

The feature could work across emails, chat messages, and longer documents.

OpenAI wants ChatGPT to “write in your voice”

Writing Style could reduce the need to repeatedly explain tone, wording preferences, or formatting choices before asking ChatGPT to draft something.

Instead, users could give ChatGPT access to existing writing examples through connected apps and let it use those as a reference.

OpenAI has confirmed that it is testing Writing Style, but access remains limited to a small group of users.

The company has not announced a wider rollout date.
