ChatGPT Now Automatically Turns Long Pasted Text Into Attachments

OpenAI has quietly rolled out another quality-of-life upgrade for ChatGPT users. The company has changed how extremely long pasted text behaves inside ChatGPT. Enterprise and Education users are now receiving the feature.

Rather than dumping thousands of characters into the message composer, ChatGPT now automatically converts pasted content into an attachment whenever it exceeds 10,000 characters. The change helps keep the compose window tidy while preventing massive text blocks from immediately filling the available conversation context.

Users still remain in control of how their content appears. If they prefer the traditional behavior, they can simply select “Show in text field” to move the attachment back into the composer as regular text.

Speaking of availability, OpenAI says this behavior is already enabled across all other ChatGPT plans. Enterprise and Education users are simply receiving the same functionality starting today.

The update may sound small, but it solves a common frustration for users working with long documents, research notes, code snippets, meeting transcripts, or legal drafts. Instead of scrolling through thousands of pasted characters before writing a prompt, users can now keep the conversation much cleaner.

In another company news, OpenAI has recently issued a public statement where it refuted all the claims made by Apple in its ongoing trade secret lawsuit and cited email mix-up. Besides that, the company is also retiring DALL.E GPT on August 30.
