ChatGPT Team

Despite a rough end to 2023 when Sam Altman almost left the company, OpenAI is back in business, and the AI company announced the release of the GPT Store, and ChatGPT Team, two platforms meant to expand on the AI capabilities provided by ChatGPT.

While GPT Store allows users to build their GPTs, share and monetize them on the platform through the GPT builder revenue program slated for release in Q1 2024, ChatGPT Team is a platform suited for companies and enterprises, that will be used to manage enterprise GPTs.

The platform offers companies access to tools such as GPT-4 and DALL·E 3, as well as Advanced Data Analysis, which allows them to control and manage sensitive business data used by ChatGPT.

ChatGPT Team offers access to our advanced models like GPT-4 and DALL·E 3, and tools like Advanced Data Analysis. It additionally includes a dedicated collaborative workspace for your team and admin tools for team management. As with ChatGPT Enterprise, you own and control your business data—we do not train on your business data or conversations, and our models don’t learn from your usage. More details on our data privacy practices can be found on our privacy page and Trust Portal.

But the platform also includes several other features:

  • Access to GPT-4 with 32K context window
  • No training on company business data or conversations
  • Secure workspace for teams
  • Create and share custom GPTs with workspaces
  • Admin console for workspace and team management
  • Early access to new features and improvements

Could ChatGPT Team be a competitor to Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, or Google Suite?

Well, while it’s still too soon to properly answer this question, the answer is that ChatGPT Team could end up being a serious competitor to platforms other similar platforms.

The new platform would be a direct competitor to Microsoft Teams, for instance. ChatGPT could offer more or less the same features as Teams, through the employment of different GPTs, from the ones that provide virtual meetings tools, to the ones that summarize and analyze data.ChatGPT Team

In many ways, ChatGPT Team could end up being a space where employees would use different GPTs to get work done. Let’s imagine, for example, a GPT that is specialized in analyzing data, in a similar manner to Excel, but it is sensitive and personalized to a company’s infrastructure.

The same could go for a GPT that would assume the role of a Cowriter (in case you didn’t know, Microsoft will release a Cowriter soon), helping employees with emails, briefs, reports, and so on.

This way, it could easily take on the Microsoft corporate-oriented products, and Google Suite, in a couple of years. But we’ll have to wait and see.

What’s your take on this?
