GPT Store

The last months of 2023 were quite busy and weird for OpenAI, the Microsoft AI partner: the company announced GPTs, along with the GPT Store, and then it also went into a crisis, as Sam Altman was dismissed from his CEO position, and reinstated back after a few days.

While the company finished the year in a good state, Sam Altman promised that OpenAI would release great things in the following months, and now, 11 days into 2024, the GPT Store is out in the world.

Back in November, when Altman announced that GPTs were coming, he also said that the GPT Store would be released as a place for everyone to publish and monetize their GPTs. Now that the platform is here, there are over 3 million GPTs people can choose to purchase and use.

It’s been two months since we announced GPTs, and users have already created over 3 million custom versions of ChatGPT. Many builders have shared their GPTs for others to use. Today, we’re starting to roll out the GPT Store to ChatGPT Plus, Team and Enterprise users so you can find useful and popular GPTs. Visit chat.openai.com/gpts to explore.

GPT Store: What can users do there?

According to OpenAI, users should expect to find a variety of GPTs to suit their every need on the GPT Store.

The store features a diverse range of GPTs developed by our partners and the community. Browse popular and trending GPTs on the community leaderboard, with categories like DALL·E, writing, research, programming, education, and lifestyle.

The company will also highlight the most popular GPTs of the week, so users can download and try them for themselves.GPT Store

For those users who are developers and want to share their GPTs on the GPT Store, they can do it by saving their GPT for everyone to see, while also making sure they verify their builder profile. OpenAI promises that builders can earn through the monetization of their GPTs, through the GPT builder revenue program slated for release in Q1 2024.

The best thing is that users won’t need coding skills to create GPTs, so pretty much anyone can build AI models.

What do you think about this new platform? Are you interested in becoming a GPT builder?
