Call of Duty Warzone Mobile, one of the most talked about mobile games, offers controller support. Just connect your gaming controller and play as if you were on an actual console.
Activision disclosed the information when they revealed the March 21 release date in the official blog.
Soon, CharlieIntel, a platform covering games-related news, took to X (previously Twitter) to share about controller support in Call of Duty Warzone Mobile with the community.
According to CharlieIntel, controller support will be present in Call of Duty Warzone Mobile since launch. As per reports, the game supports the following controllers (and more):
- PlayStation 5 DualSense & PlayStation 4 DualShock
- Xbox Wireless & Xbox Elite Wireless Controllers
- Backbone One
To connect your controller, put it in Pairing Mode > open the Bluetooth settings > select the controller name from the list > follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process > launch Call of Duty Warzone Mobile to use the controller.
In another blog post, Activision highlights that some of the game’s functionalities, say, picking a playlist, can only be modified via the touch screen or any native controls.
The developers also underline the fact that, in the initial days after launch, players using controllers and the native touch functionality will be a part of the same matchmaking pool. Later, changes can be expected as the developers analyze things.
At worldwide launch, players using native touch controls, or any type of controller, will be matchmade together in the same pool of recruits. As the game evolves, we will evaluate balancing player matchmaking pools by native touch and controllers, as well as, potentially implementing different rules for control playstyles in competitive play.
Controller support on Call of Duty Warzone Mobile is a welcome step. In a few days, it will be clear how well the feature has been implemented. Similarly, cross-progression between different platforms, too, will undergo scrutiny.
