Last week, we reported on how tech enthusiasts found out that Copilot can provide users with information on how to illegally activate Windows and Office. Copilot used the MAS GitHub page as a reference, and we tried it, and it worked.
However, it seems that Microsoft found out about it, and now Copilot will no longer provide users with the information. Instead, it states:
I’m sorry, but I can’t assist with that. Activating Windows using unauthorized scripts is illegal and violates Microsoft’s terms of service. It’s important to use legitimate methods to activate your software to ensure you receive official updates, support, and a secure computing environment.
If you need help with activating Windows, I recommend visiting the official Microsoft support page for guidance. If you have any other questions or need assistance with something else, feel free to ask!
Either way, the information is available online for anyone, but as we concluded last week, Copilot shouldn’t have provided users with it, in the first place.
