Crimson Desert Looks Blurry on PS5 as Players Discover Possible Workaround

Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert players on PS5 are running into an unexpected visual issue, as reported by IGN. Just a day after launch, reports of blurry graphics have started surfacing, quickly becoming a major talking point across the community.

PS5 players may have found a quick fix for blurry visuals

The issue is being widely discussed across social media, Reddit, and Discord, with players claiming the game looks noticeably blurry regardless of which graphics mode they use. Interestingly, some users say the game appears significantly sharper on the PS5 Pro, which has only added to the confusion.

At a time when launch performance is under heavy scrutiny, players may have found a possible workaround. Many are suggesting that disabling “Enable 120Hz Output” in the PS5’s system settings improves image clarity. The theory is that the game struggles when the console forces 120Hz on displays that do not fully support 4K at that refresh rate.

That explanation lines up with comments from Digital Foundry’s John Linneman, who said the problem appears to be tied to displays that accept a 120Hz signal only at lower resolutions. In those cases, the system may be dropping the resolution to maintain the higher refresh rate, which could explain the blurry visuals.

The issue may not be limited to consoles, either. Some PC players are also reporting similar problems, although the fixes there appear to be less consistent. A few users say adjusting settings and restarting the game helps, while others have reportedly requested refunds over the game’s visual quality.

For now, it remains unclear whether this is a widespread bug or a hardware compatibility issue. With Crimson Desert already facing mixed early reviews, these technical concerns could put even more pressure on the developers.
