Crimson Desert’s Nintendo Switch 2 Port to Release in First Half of 2027

Nintendo Switch 2 owners can expect Crimson Desert in H1 2027

In the latest earnings call, Pearl Abyss mentioned that it is targeting Crimson Desert’s Switch 2 port in the first half of 2027. To catch you up, ever since Crimson Desert launched in March, the open-world adventure became a major commercial success for Pearl Abyss.

Recent financial results show just how important the game has become. Pearl Abyss reported a huge year-over-year jump in operating profit during the second quarter. The game reportedly passed 2 million sales, giving Pearl Abyss plenty of reason to keep expanding its reach.

That expansion now includes Nintendo’s latest hardware. The company previously began research into a Switch 2 version earlier this year.

Switch 2 version has crossed an important milestone

Pearl Abyss says Crimson Desert has reached a playable baseline on Switch 2. However, the studio still needs additional optimization before calling the port finished. The developer says preserving the game’s graphics, combat, and seamless open world remains important. That makes this more than a simple platform conversion.

Pearl Abyss is therefore targeting the first half of 2027, rather than announcing an exact launch date. The company says further details will be shared via its official channels. Not to forget, Pearl Abyss has already outlined additional content and confirmed DLC work for Crimson Desert.
