copilot agents

Microsoft Teams will allow organizations to create their own Copilot agents to be able to complete certain tasks, and the Redmond-based tech giant is giving them even more tools to train these agents to maximum effieciency.

According to a recent entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, developers can add extra information, such as files in PDF, Word, or PowerPoint formats, to train the Copilot agents using the Teams Toolkit. This added information helps the agents provide more accurate and relevant responses.

Developers and makers can embed knowledge (pdf, doc/docx, ppt) into their declarative agents built with Teams Toolkit for additional grounding capabilities.

At the same time, Microsoft will also enhance the Teams Toolkit to allow developers to choose specific Graph connectors to access various data sources. By selecting the right connectors, developers can enhance the agents’ knowledge and make their responses more accurate and relevant. This way, the Copilot agents will better understand and answer questions.

The company announced the feature in an entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap.

Developers using Teams Toolkit to author declarative agents can select specific Graph connectors to improve their knowledge grounding.

Both capabilities will be released in May.
