Disney Quietly Removes 15 Games from Steam, Including Classic Star Wars Titles

Speculation around licensing issues is making rounds online

If you recently hopped on Steam searching for popular Disney-owned games, you might notice some of them missing. Well, that’s not a coincidence. In fact, Disney has reportedly pulled a batch of its older titles from the platform without any prior notice.

Disney quietly removes multiple games from Steam with any warnings

The news first highlighted by Bluesky user wario64, suggests that the latest round of removals includes around 15 titles that have now been marked as “retired” on Steam’s backend (via Kotaku). Among them are a couple of classic Star Wars games, including Star Wars: Rebellion and the original version of Star Wars: Dark Forces.

Besides that, the list mostly consists of older Disney games like Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Bolt, Tangled, and Treasure Planet: Battle of Procyon. These aren’t exactly top sellers in 2026, but they were still available for purchase until now. You can check all the delisted Disney games from Steam in the screenshot below.

As of now, there’s no official explanation from Disney about why these games were removed. The delisting also appears to have happened quietly, with no warning for users or store page notices.

Existing owners unaffected, new buyers locked out

If you already own any of the aforementioned titles, nothing changes on your end. You can still download and play them as usual. However, new users won’t be able to purchase these games anymore. Even if these are older titles, removing them from storefronts limits availability and raises questions around long-term game preservation.

Notably, speculation around licensing issues is already making the rounds online, though nothing has been confirmed yet. If Disney officially confirms anything regarding this matter, we’ll update this piece. For the time being, it’s unclear if more Disney titles will follow or if this was a one-off cleanup.
