Duet Night Abyss Joins Steam As A Free to Play Game
Duet Night Abyss has quietly launched on Steam as a free to play game after launching earlier on mobile and PC via other stores. This anime-style action RPG is designed around a dual narrative structure that lets players experience the world of Atlasia through two protagonists whose stories intertwine.
The free to play Steam game has got “mixed” reviews so far
The combat blends melee and ranged weapons with fast-paced hack-and-slash action, encouraging players to swap loadouts fluidly in battle. A major talking point before launch was the game’s monetization.
As reported back in August 2025, developers chose to remove traditional gacha systems and stamina limits, which allows characters and weapons to be unlocked through play rather than random pulls. This move set Duet Night Abyss apart from many free-to-play RPGs and aimed to focus monetization primarily on cosmetics and optional purchases.
Despite a player-friendly model, early reception on Steam has been “mixed.” The title currently holds a 66% positive rating, with players praising its progression freedom and monetization philosophy, but criticizing aspects like UI complexity and combat feel. With its Steam launch now live, the game’s community and content roadmap will be something to watch in 2026.
