Key notes

  • Microsoft is reportedly testing a feature called Edge for Gamers.
  • As spotted by an insider, the option brings an even better gaming experience.
  • Additionally, it also opens Discord and Twitch on the sidebar.

Microsoft is reportedly working on bringing a new feature that could enhance your gaming experience while browsing Windows 11’s natively built-in browser, Edge. The feature, called Edge for Gamers, is currently living inside the system of the Edge Canary channel.

The feature, as spotted by Windows enthusiast @Leopeva64, is a toggle on the Appearance page on Settings.

If you still remember, Microsoft unleashed a plethora of new powers to Edge for gamers back in 2022. The Xbox Cloud Gaming integration, the Clarity Boost to make games look crispier, the free access to Microsoft’s popular games through the browser, and the efficiency mode are just a few things to name.

Being an insider-only feature, however, means we may need a little more time before this option arrives for general users. Its competitor in the gaming browser landscape, Opera GX, is also something you don’t want to miss.

What can you do with the Edge for Gamers option?

As you can see on the screenshot, the toggle says Level up your experience in and out of the game with a gaming homepage, sidebar apps for gamers, efficiency mode for PC gaming, dark mode, gaming themes, and more

But wait, there’s more! The Sidebar receives an upgrade too. As if by magic, the Discord and Twitch apps are seamlessly added, allowing you to access these popular platforms without any extra effort easily.

That’s not all. The Edge for Gamers toggle also takes care of some additional settings for you. The dark mode is enabled automatically, creating a sleek and immersive interface perfectly suited for gaming.

Furthermore, the toggle to improve the PC gaming experience is turned on, ensuring that your gaming sessions are optimized for the best performance possible. And we also have a dedicated article including DualSense Edge settings for gaming, so make sure to take a closer look.
