Firefox 139.0.1 comes with fixes for NVIDIA graphics issues

Mozilla has released Firefox 139.0 to all users in the Stable channel, introducing new features and improvements. These include AI-powered link previews in Firefox Labs, custom wallpapers for the New Tab page, enhanced upload performance for HTTP/3, and support for pasting transparent PNG images without losing transparency.

However, the update also introduced some bugs, particularly the graphics corruption with certain NVIDIA graphics adapters, which Mozilla aimed to address in version 139.0.1, released on May 29, 2025.

What was the issue?

According to Mozilla, after installing Firefox 139.0, users experienced graphical corruption when two or more monitors were connected to an NVIDIA graphics card, especially when running at different refresh rates.

One Firefox user reported the issue on Reddit, writing,

Acer VG271U. It has a lot of flickering stories on the internet, but I’ve used it for 30 hours so far and it’s only happening in FF, so I’m hoping it’s not the panel issue.

Several users reported similar display glitches on NVIDIA GPUs after the Firefox 139.0 update.

Mozilla has now released version 139.0.1, which includes a single bug fix specifically for PCs with NVIDIA graphics cards. According to the changelog:

Fixed graphics corruption with certain NVIDIA graphics adapters and multiple monitors running at mixed refresh rates after updating to Firefox 139. (Bug 1968876)

To receive the update, click the Menu icon (represented by three horizontal lines) in the upper-right corner of Firefox, select Help, and then click About Firefox to initiate the download. However, you can also download it now from the official Mozilla Firefox website or the Microsoft Store.
