Firefox is a great browser with several unique features, one of them being the ability to take screenshots right from the browser.

Speaking of which, it seems that Mozilla is looking to improve the screenshot feature in Firefox, and here’s what we know so far.

Mozilla is currently testing a new screenshot feature in Firefox

As reported by How-to Geek, Firefox might be getting a new screenshot feature soon. In its current iteration, the screenshot feature worked as an extension, so it had certain limitations.

For example, you weren’t able to take a screenshot of settings pages, since extensions aren’t allowed to access them. That’s about to change with a new version of the screenshot feature.

The new version will improve performance, keyboard, and visual accessibility, and it will finally allow users to take screenshots of any page in Firefox.

Just like before, the feature can be activated with a keyboard shortcut or from the context menu. Regarding the availability, you can go ahead and test this feature in the Firefox Nightly build.

As for the official release, we expect to see this feature available in Firefox 125 on April 26th. Speaking of Firefox, the Android version also got some changes recently, and Firefox Nightly for Android now has a tab bar, so don’t miss it.
