Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 "Shattered" Event Date, Start Times & What to Expect
Fortnite players finally have a date locked in for the next major live event. Epic Games has announced that it is preparing for another massive season-ending spectacle before Chapter 8 officially begins. The upcoming “Shattered” live event will close out Chapter 7 Season 2 on June 5, and it may end up shaping the next chapter.
Fortnite’s Shattered event goes live June 5
Epic Games has confirmed the event begins at 7 PM ET on June 5, which is a slightly different slot compared to some previous Fortnite finales. For players in Europe, that unfortunately means a very late night. Needless to say, some Fortnite fans are unhappy about the timings and have also requested time change. Meanwhile, players in Australia and New Zealand will basically be waking up straight into the event.
The matchmaking playlist reportedly opens around 40 minutes before kickoff, and honestly, joining early is probably mandatory at this point. Fortnite live events still pull massive player numbers every single time.

Team choices may finally matter this season
While the actual event details are still under wraps, one thing still stands out. The company has confirmed the experience will apparently change depending on whether players sided with Team Ice King or Team Foundation earlier this chapter.
That said, it’s unclear how that impacts the finale remains unclear for now. There is also growing speculation that the recently added Overwatch crossover characters could somehow appear during the event itself after arriving in Act 3 earlier this season.
Epic’s final update for Chapter 7 is currently scheduled for May 28, which likely means the next major wave of teasers and event files should start surfacing very soon.
