Albion Online is expanding to new platforms, and console players are finally getting their chance to jump in.

According to True Achievements, Albion Online is launching on Xbox Series X|S next month, bringing the full sandbox MMO experience to consoles with several optimizations.

Albion Online arrives on Xbox with full optimization

The Xbox version has been tailored specifically for console players, featuring a redesigned user interface and full controller support. Sandbox Interactive has also reworked key systems such as the marketplace and inventory screens to ensure smoother navigation using a gamepad.

In addition, Xbox Game Pass Perks will be available at launch, offering players in-game rewards to help them get started in the world of Albion.

A sandbox MMO built around player freedom

Developed by Sandbox Interactive, Albion Online is a free-to-play MMORPG set in an open fantasy world where players shape their own path.

The game stands out thanks to its player-driven economy, where most items are crafted, traded, and sold by the community. Instead of traditional classes, Albion uses a classless system, meaning your abilities and playstyle depend entirely on the gear you equip.

Players can focus on combat, crafting, farming, or trading, while engaging in solo adventures, small group activities, or massive, large-scale battles. The game also includes features such as housing, resource gathering, and territory control.

Cross-platform progression carries over

One of the key features of the Xbox release is full cross-platform progression. Players who already have accounts on PC, Mac, Linux, or mobile devices will be able to continue their progress seamlessly on Xbox.

This ensures that new and existing players can join the same persistent world without losing progress or starting over.

Albion Online launches on Xbox Series X|S on April 21, 2026, marking a major step in expanding the game’s reach to console audiences.

In other Xbox news, the upcoming Xbox Partner Preview event is set to take place this week. Microsoft has also recently added 30 new titles to Xbox Play Anywhere, while the company is rebranding Xbox Full Screen Experience to Xbox Mode within the Xbox app.
