google one hits 100 millions subscribers

Launched in May 2018, Google One has finally hit the 100 million subscriber target, a massive feat!

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, made the announcement while also highlighting the company’s latest offering, Google One Premium AI.

This clearly tells us that Google’s efforts to get users to shell out a few bucks for its services have paid off. In 2021, Google set a limit on free storage offered by Google Photos, which was previously unlimited. It’s now clubbed with the Google account, and you get 15 GB of free space.

So, Google One plans, starting at $2 per month, did seem like a steal deal to many, especially for those far too dependent on Google’s cloud storage.

Besides, these offered access to Google experts, VPN services, additional editing features in Google Photos, and monitored the dark web to identify if your personal information has been leaked.

Recently, Google’s other paid service, YouTube Premium, hit the 100 million subscribers mark.

Google launches the AI Premium plan

To keep up with the massive popularity and tap into the growing user base of AI (Artificial Intelligence), the tech giant has introduced the Google One AI Premium plan.

Priced at $19.99, the AI Premium plan includes all the benefits of the Premium plan, along with access to Gemini Advanced and the soon-to-be-released Gemini in Gmail, Docs and more. You get 2 TB of storage with the AI Premium plan.

Google’s generative AI is challenging Microsoft, and if the former manages to keep up the pace, it may emerge as a significant market player in the days to come.
