Google’s “Gemini Omni” AI Video Model May Have Leaked via the Gemini App

In the past few days, rumors and leaks around Google’s upcoming Gemini Omni model have been circulating online frequently, especially considering its expected announcement at Google I/O this year. Well, in what seems to be a fresh leak originating from the Gemini app itself, Gemini Omni model may have just leaked.

As noted by TestingCatalog on X, a Reddit user seems to have spotted the new “Omni” model inside the Gemini mobile app. It seems Google is working on a powerful new multimodal video model capable of remixing clips, editing videos directly in chat, and generating cinematic scenes with synchronized audio.

While Google already offers Veo for video generation, the new findings suggest Gemini Omni may become something much larger and far more integrated into the Gemini ecosystem itself.

Leaked Gemini Omni video model may be a major step beyond Veo

According to the findings, the Gemini app now contains references to a new “Gemini Omni” video model. In the leaked screenshot, the description of the Omni model reads, “Meet our new video model. Remix your videos, edit directly in chat, try a template, and more.”

That wording alone strongly suggests Google wants users creating and editing videos directly inside Gemini conversations rather than jumping between separate tools. The user who spotted the references to the model appears to have used it after other Redditors encouraged him to try it out.

He further claims the model appears to consume usage limits quickly, with Google reportedly preparing a new “Usage” tab for both web and mobile users to monitor generation activity.

Interestingly, early feedback suggests Gemini Omni may already outperform Veo in several areas. The user also praised the model’s prompt adherence, smoother camera angle transitions, stronger scene coherence, and significantly improved voice generation quality.

Here’s a quick look at the video allegedly generated using the new Omni model:

At a time when rivals like OpenAI are also pushing toward more capable AI agents and creative tools, Google increasingly appears ready to position Gemini Omni as more than just another chatbot upgrade ahead of Google I/O.
