The excitement surrounding GTA 6 news hasn’t slowed down for a second. Every new screenshot, trailer, or small discovery quickly spreads across social media. Now, PlayStation users have started noticing something new. It could be the first sign of Sony’s next marketing push.

Sony quietly revives GTA 6 marketing with new PlayStation app promotion

Amid speculation of GTA 6 Trailer 3, several PlayStation App users are now reporting a new GTA 6 pre-order pop-up appearing immediately after launching the application. According to multiple reports, the notification seems to target users who haven’t already purchased the game.

The news comes via X account iGrandTheftAuto, with several community members reportedly confirming they received the same prompt. While Sony hasn’t officially announced a new marketing campaign, the timing has caught the attention of GTA fans.

The promotion is fairly straightforward. As seen in the screenshots, PlayStation App now presents a direct pre-order advertisement shortly after opening. That approach could help Sony remind undecided players that pre-orders remain available.

That’s not all; GTA 6 is also appearing up front on the PlayStation website. According to reports, a promotional section appears further down the PS5 Games page highlighting GTA 6 pre-orders. Unlike the pop-up on PS mobile app, however, it’s currently unclear whether the website placement is actually new.

Sony has remained relatively quiet since the initial GTA 6 pre-order campaign. With just over three months remaining before launch, the company may finally be preparing a broader marketing push alongside Rockstar Games.

Neither Sony nor Rockstar has commented on the new app promotion. For now, it appears to be a gradual rollout rather than a global campaign reaching every PlayStation user simultaneously. Last but not least, the most anticipated blogpost on the PlayStation website has mention of GTA 6 too. So, clearly Sony is doing its bit to promote the most hyped game of 2026.
