Guitar Hero is probably one of those games that will stay in our minds forever. The Xbox 360 classic started a whole genre: the music rhythm video game. It proved to be fun and addictive, especially if you were a music lover.
There are many similar games, and some of them you can even play online on your PC. But somehow, they do not compare to this classic, or at least, the feeling is just not there.
So, it’s only natural to wonder if Guitar Hero should make a return on Xbox Series X/S. And it seems a lot of people are wondering about it, too.
One could wonder, of course. But has Microsoft ever thought about bringing Guitar Hero to Xbox Series X/S?

Well, it could happen. But would it have an audience? A reboot of the series occurred back in 2015. 9 years ago, Guitar Hero Live was released to all consoles and Windows devices. But, and this is a big but, the game underperformed. It didn’t sell well. Plus, it caused the company of that time, FreeStyleGames, to go bankrupt.
Activision laid off many employees of FreeStyleGames and sold the company to Ubisoft in 2017 for this very reason.
Now that Microsoft has acquired Blizzard, the Redmond-based tech giant Guitar Hero might come back one way or the other, as the Xbox execs have mentioned the game several times, but is there an audience for it?
Well, on Reddit, many Xbox gamers would love to play this game. Some even suggested Xbox should release a remake and put it on Game Pass.
Guitar Hero Ultimate. Put it on Game Pass. Make all songs, including DLC, available to everyone. Make sure to include drums so I can kick yo asses.
While physical interactions might be different now, the Internet and the way many people, including young people, use it have also changed the way we play video games.
Guitar Hero requires a lot of social interaction, but who knows? It’s still worth a try. This game should return to Xbox X/S. Maybe this time, it will be successful.
