How to Fix the Helldivers Error Code 10002038

The Helldivers error code 10002038 may lock you out of the game because the server is overloaded. While you can wait and play during off-peak hours, some workarounds will enable you to bypass this error.

How can I fix the Helldivers error code 10002038?

1. Disable Steam Input

  2. Go to Library, locate, and right-click the game to select Properties.Select game properties
  3. On the Properties window, click the Controller tab.
  4. Select the Disable Steam Input option from the drop-down to turn off mouse emulation.Disable steam as input

Once you disable the Steam input, you’ll lose access to your customized configurations because you’ll have to use your keyboard and mouse to control the game. Do this for a while, then switch back to your controller and see if the error code 10002038 disappears.

2. Disable the crossplay feature

  1. Launch the game.
  2. Click on the Options tab and the General tab, then scroll down and toggle off Cross-Play.

While the crossplay feature widens the player diversity pool, it may also be among the factors contributing to the server overload. Disabling it may spread the server load evenly and get rid of the error code 10002038.

3. Perform a Network reset

If none of the solutions suggested above resolve the error code 10002038 on Helldivers, then it’s probably more on the server side than anything with your device. It’s the same case with the black screen on launch.

Unfortunately, in such cases, the best case scenario would be to contact support. They could offer a timeline on when the servers will be back up or any other temporary workarounds to get you playing as they fix the issue.
