Here’s What Microsoft Added to Intune in September 2026
Microsoft rolled out several new Intune features in September 2026, including phased deployments, expanded Android bulk actions, and a redesigned device management view.
The company also expanded availability for several Intune services. Intune Enterprise Application Management, Microsoft Cloud PKI, and Remote Help are now available in Government Community Cloud environments, while Department of Defense customers can now use Enterprise Application Management.
Intune phased deployments enter public preview
Microsoft has placed Intune deployments in public preview, giving administrators a way to roll out Windows apps and policies gradually through predefined deployment rings.
The feature can help IT teams limit the impact of problematic updates by starting with smaller device groups before expanding a deployment across the organization.
Phased deployments currently support Win32 apps, Enterprise App Catalog apps, Settings catalog policies, and Endpoint security policies.
Device management gets a more unified view
Microsoft also updated the default device management view in Intune.
The new layout brings device information, recent activity, management tools, reports, and available actions into a single interface.
Administrators can also launch relevant device management actions directly from the same page, reducing the need to move between multiple Intune sections when troubleshooting or managing endpoints.
Android bulk actions expand
Intune now includes more bulk management options for Android Enterprise devices.
Administrators can activate eSIMs on up to 100 corporate-owned devices running Android 15 or later at the same time using a single carrier activation server URL.
Microsoft also changed how eSIMs behave when administrators remove devices in bulk. Intune now preserves the eSIM by default instead of removing it together with the device record.
The change should make large Android device deployments easier to manage when organizations replace, reassign, or reprovision hardware.
Managed Home Screen is now generally available
Managed Home Screen has also reached general availability.
The September changes mainly focus on reducing repetitive administrative tasks while giving organizations more control over app, device, and policy deployments.
Microsoft has also been making broader Windows management changes around Windows 11 26H2. The company recently enabled Windows settings backup by default for eligible enterprise devices, while separate reports suggest Windows 11 26H2 can reduce RAM usage by up to 2GB in some configurations.
