High On Life 2 For Nintendo Switch 2 Officially Delayed To July 1
Fans waiting to play the next big comedy shooter on their new Nintendo console will have to wait just a little bit longer. Squanch Games just announced that the Switch 2 version of High On Life 2 is no longer coming out this spring. The studio decided to push the launch back by a few months to make sure everything runs perfectly on the new hardware.
It was supposed to launch in late April earlier
Originally, the developers planned to drop the game on April 20. That date is an obvious joke that fits the weird humor of the series perfectly. Sadly, the team realized they needed more time to finish development. They shared an official update on their website confirming the new launch date is now set for July 1, 2026.
This extra time allows the studio to clean up any lingering technical issues. Making games for brand new hardware is difficult, and the team wants to ensure everything works exactly right on the first day.
What this extra development time means
Game delays are never good, but they usually result in a much better experience at launch. Nintendo fans are incredibly eager to see how the Switch 2 handles heavier games like this one. Taking a little extra time helps prevent the game from releasing with broken textures or bad frame rates. You can still expect all the loud, talking guns and strange alien worlds when the game finally arrives this summer.
Hopefully, the short wait means players will get a finished game that does not need a massive patch on release day.
