How do I Find product key on Windows 11?

Use command line


1. Press Windows Key + R on your keyboard



2. Type the command: wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey and press Enter.



This method usually shows your product key if it’s in the system. It works well in most cases, so you might not need to try other methods.

How can I tell if my Windows 11 uses a digital license or a key?

Open Settings > System > Activation. If you see Digital license, activation does not depend on a visible key.

Can I reuse a Windows 11 key on another PC?

Retail keys can usually be transferred after removing the license from the old PC. OEM keys are locked to the first device.

Why does PowerShell return blank for the registry method?

Not every install writes BackupProductKeyDefault. Try the UEFI method or check proof of purchase.

Is it safe to share my product key with support?

Share only the last five characters unless you trust the channel completely. Prefer screen sharing with sensitive parts hidden.

Will a reset remove my activation?

A reset on the same hardware with a digital license will reactivate when online. Keep your Microsoft account signed in.
