Hunter: The Reckoning Returns as a Massive Action RPG in 2027

Hunter The Reckning Deathwish

The classic tabletop horror universe is finally making its way back to video games. During the recent Xbox Partner Preview event, developer Teyon officially announced Hunter: The Reckoning Deathwish. This first-person action game drops you straight into a dark, modern version of New York City that is secretly filled with monsters.

You can expect to hunt down vampires and other supernatural threats when the title launches for Xbox and PC in the summer of 2027.

The game lets you build your ideal monster hunter

Teyon, the studio known for RoboCop: Rogue City, is taking a much deeper approach with this project. The company is giving players a huge character creator to build an ideal hunter from scratch. You get to pick your physical appearance, assign attribute points, and level up different skills. The game offers a semi-open world structure. You can tackle the main story or dive into various side quests at your own pace.

You can even build relationships with companions along the way. Your choices actually matter here. Players can solve problems using pure force, stealth, or clever dialogue.

The game lets you step into the world of darkness

The story takes place in the same universe as Vampire: The Masquerade. Your custom character suddenly discovers that a terrifying hidden world exists right under their nose. This realization forces you to either fight back or become prey. Deathwish arrives in the summer of 2027 for Xbox Series X and S, PC, and cloud streaming.

Xbox confirmed it will also be a Play Anywhere title, so you can easily swap between console and PC versions without losing any save progress.
