INNOCN 44C1G monitor hands on review

Gamers and graphic designers need wide screens and often resort to multi-monitor setups for this purpose.

The downside is that you may eventually be bothered by the frames between the screens. Moreover, not all PCs support multiple monitors and you need powerful graphics cards.

However, we’ve got to test a behemoth ultra-wide 43.8-inch monitor in the form of INNOCN’s 44C1G model that eliminates all these problems.

In this article, we will highlight the monitor’s best features and characteristics. This way you will see if you might consider replacing your setup at home or not.

Which is better, multi-monitors or an ultra-wide monitor?

From our experience, multiple monitor setups have a lot of setbacks because, sometimes, the PC won’t detect a monitor.

You also need to think about how you connect the monitors to your PC. And unless you have a compatible graphics card, you will also have to buy a KVM switch to connect them.

Then, you will require dedicated software to manage them and get the same image quality on all the monitors.

On the other hand, ultra-wide monitors, and INNOCN’s 44C1G especially, behave like a regular monitor, using a single cable and a single set of settings.

Therefore, you won’t any other hardware or software than the one supplied by the manufacturer.

The only possible disadvantage is that with a multi-monitor setup if one of the monitors breaks down, you will replace a single device.

Now, let’s go through its best features and our close observations below to find out if it’s worth the money.

What are the INNOCN 44C1G best features?

1. Easy to set up

The package and contents of INNOCN 44C1G are extremely simple to grasp. You have your mega-wide screen, the stand, the power cable and instructions.

And although the stand is simple to connect just by a single person, it offers height, tilt, and swivel adjustment.

The monitor is plug and play so you just need to connect it to the PC and power it up to be identified by your system.

2. Larger-than-life screen estate

First of all, INNOCN 44C1G is one of the widest monitors we’ve come across. And its 43.8-inch screen with a 32:9 aspect ratio offers 29% more viewable area than a 34-inch wide monitor.

It’s just like having a 3 multi-monitor setup but without those pesky margins between the screens.

But just because this screen is so big, we recommend setting it to at least 5 feet away from you to be able to see the image entirely.

3. Top image quality

The INNOCN monitor has a resolution of 3840×1080 pixels or 2 x Full HD, if you find it more simple.

But that’s only part of the magic. The 96% DCI-P3 color gamut and the 120Hz refresh rate make it perfect for any graphics applications or gaming.

If you’re a graphic designer, the manufacturer sais that the monitor is coming with color calibration report, the ΔE <2.

INNOCN 44C1G is HDR400 ready and that really puts a cherry on top when it comes to image quality.

It also features low blue light technology and TÃœV Rheinland certification. From our observations, the image quality is on par with the technical specifications.

4. Seamless connectivity

INNOCN 44C1G comes with 2 HDMI ports, one with version 1.4 and one with 2.0 but you may also connect it through the Display Port version 1.2 if your PC is compatible.

Interestingly enough, the monitor also features a 65W powered USB-C port that may as well keep even your laptop charged.

Of course, there is also a 3.5 mm audio jack for your headphones or, why not, a stereo sound system.

5. Easy to set up

To be completely honest, we’ve seen more eye-catching menus on other monitors. However, INNOCN’s is very easy to understand and use.

Not only you have dedicated settings for gaming and professional use but in the gaming section you also have tweaking for different genres like RTS/RPG, FPS and MOBA.

You will be able to access all menus from the simple and sturdy button console placed right below the center of the monitor.

Among the menus, you may also adjust the Picture Settings, the PIP/PEP and OSD Settings.

Verdict

We’ve been using INNOCN 44C1G for more than two weeks now and we can only say good things about this monitor.

It was mainly used for video editing and it performed perfectly from day one. The only important tweaking was to adjust the distance from our chair.

When you have such a wide monitor, it was a bit tricky to assess what it takes to see the whole image without turning our heads all the time.

We also had some shots with some of the most recent games and the experience was completely immersive.

That being said, you might also want to take a look at our list of best gaming wide frameless monitors.
