KVM switches for dual and multiple monitors

While having multiple computers in the same place (and actually using all of them) can be a hassle, mainly because auxiliary devices (such as dual monitors) can take up a lot of space, this situation is nothing that KVM switches can’t handle.

By providing you with multiple, varied ports, these small devices can make your life easier by making two computers use the same dual monitors.

Moreover, they can also let you control two different PCs with the same peripherals.

Granted, not at the same time, but it still beats plugging and unplugging mice and keyboards into and out of your computers, doesn’t it?

Note: Deals are subject to change. Keep in mind that the price tag often varies. We recommend going on the vendor’s website to check the price. Some of the products may be out of stock by the time you’ve made your purchasing decision. So, hurry up and hit the buy button.

What are the best KVM switches for multi-monitor setups?

TRENDnet is a KVM switch that you can use to make two different computers share the same monitor (or dual monitors, for that matter), while also letting you control both PCs with the same set of peripherals by switching the active one at the press of a button.

This product also sports 3.5mm speaker and microphone jacks and can work with up to 1920×1200 digital resolutions and 2048×1536 analog ones.

Enough about dual monitors, how would you like a unit that can handle up to four 4K displays with HDMI inputs?

Well, TESmart can do just that, and it’s not only for your computer, you can also use it to connect Blu-Ray players, your PlayStation 4 or Xbox, as well.

You must understand that this product only boasts HDMI IN and HDMI OUT ports, so the source devices, as well as the displays, must have HDMI capabilities.

  • Switching is done instantly
  • Switching customization possibility
  • Some may find it pricy

CKL is a KVM switch that was specifically designed to help dual monitor enthusiasts share their displays with two computers at the same time, eliminating the need for a second pair of display monitors for their other PC.

However, there’s a catch: all four devices (the two computers and the pair of monitors) must have HDMI connection ports since the unit doesn’t support VGA or Display Port connection types.

  • Supports DVI and VGA connections
  • Can handle up to 4 computers
  • Comes with built-in USB 2.0 hub
  • Some customers complain about the ports failing

CKLau is somewhat similar to the CKL unit described earlier, but in reality, they’re nothing alike, mainly because this product can handle 4 computers at the same time, and it only accepts VGA and DVI connections.

Additionally, CKLau comes with four pieces of 6ft KVM cables, a built-in USB 2.0 HUB, as well as jacks for your microphone and sound system.

To sum it all up, if you find yourself having to use two computers at the same time and don’t want to waste a lot of space with multiple monitors, you can just turn to KVM switches with multi-monitor support.

I’m surprised there aren’t more Display Port version in this list. Although HDMI works for business, since most of us are currently working from home and possible using work issued laptops at the same desk where we also have a gaming desktop, I was wondering if these KVM’s would cause a noticeable lag during gaming. I really don’t have the space to have a separate dual monitor work and dual monitor desktop space but using the work laptop is a must.

I need to switch between working on my personal desktop PC to my work Dell Latitude laptop. I have a custom build desktop with two video cards in ATX case. (2) HDMI monitors feed by the (2) video cards, (1) keyboard (USB), (1) mouse (USB), (1) webcam (USB), (1) 1/8 audio output to sound system, (1) Lan port for connection to router/network. Who can help me locate a KVM switch that will allow me to toggle between my Dell Latitude 7490 and this custom PC build?

Did you do ANY research for this? Your number 1 doesn’t even have HDMI support. The last two are the same product with different Chinese company names. They even have the same image right here on this site. No one should take this write-up seriously in 2021. The author was clearly not bothered to do any more research other than typing in “KVM DUAL MONITOR” on Amazon. No details about the supported resolutions. No information about gaming/video work quality. I’ve put more effort into this comment than this author put into this garbage review. Most likely just trying to make a quick buck with affiliate codes. Not coming to this website for reviews again, and you shouldn’t either.
