Microsoft Rewards is going through a weird phase, as globally, the platform seems to behave strangely. On Reddit, multiple posts from users worldwide report that Microsoft Rewards has increased the cost of points needed to redeem gift cards while decreasing the cost of other gift cards.
For example, in Brazil, users found out that Microsoft Rewards significantly reduced the number of points for redeeming products/services in the Microsoft Store. In some cases, Microsoft Rewards has gone so far as to reduce costs by almost 50%, from 1750 to 1035.
In the comments, other users agree. It’s also happening in the UK, although the reductions there are smaller. Users from Mexico, Romania, and India have also reported the same thing.
On the other hand, the platform seems to have increased the number of points you need to redeem digital codes for Overwatch Coins. A Reddit user found out about it, and other users confirmed it’s happening. A digital code for 200 coins now costs 2000 Microsoft Rewards points instead of 1800 points.
While many agree that it might be a temporary stun, others say that the change is permanent, and Microsoft will most likely increase the cost for other products, as well. However, it might also have to do with regions: different regions, different prices.
Microsoft hasn’t released any official information about this at all.
The company has recently updated Bing, and with it, the platform lost the Microsoft Rewards module on iOS devices, including iPhones and iPads.
