Is Spotify Down Again Today? Latest Outage Trigger Streaming Issues & "Can't Play This Right Now" Error
Spotify appears to be experiencing a fresh outage, with thousands of users reporting problems accessing the music streaming service. Reports began surging sharply earlier today, suggesting the issue is affecting users in multiple regions rather than being isolated to a single country.
Spotify outage reports surge on X, Downdetector, and Reddit
According to Downdetector, user-submitted outage reports spiked sharply over the past hour, reaching nearly 2800 reports at one point. Users have complained about songs failing to play, login problems, and issues with both the Spotify app and web player. We spotted a significant jump from a baseline of just 11 reports to 2,825, indicating an unusual increase in complaints.
While many users are unable to stream music normally, Spotify’s official status page currently continues to show all systems as operational. The company has yet to publicly acknowledge a widespread outage, making it unclear whether the issue is still being investigated internally or is affecting only certain regions.
The latest disruption comes just days after Spotify dealt with another outage affecting users in parts of Asia. User reports at the time described playback failures, login issues, and problems with the web player before service was eventually restored.
Spotify has seen multiple outages recently
This is also not the first time Spotify has experienced service disruptions in recent months. In fact, the platform faced a huge outage yesterday affecting music playback, search, and account access.
As of publishing this, Spotify has not issued an official statement regarding the latest spike in outage reports. If the issue is server-side, users may have little option beyond waiting until the service is restored.
We’ll update this story if Spotify shares more details or confirms an ongoing incident.
