Is Spotify Down Right Now? Latest Outage Affects App, Web Player & Audio Streaming

Are you wondering whether Spotify is down or if it’s just you? Well, you’re definitely not alone. Hundreds of users are currently reporting problems with the music streaming platform. The latest outage appears to be affecting the Spotify app, web player, and music playback. This also isn’t the first time Spotify has run into service problems recently.

Just last week, the streaming giant experienced another outage that disrupted music playback and the Spotify web player for many users. While that issue was eventually resolved, fresh reports are once again beginning to pile up.

As of writing this, outage tracking website Downdetector has recorded a sharp increase in user complaints. Reports jumped to around 887, compared to a normal baseline of 14, suggesting the issue is affecting far more users than usual.

Most complaints currently appear to revolve around the Spotify app failing to work properly, playback interruptions, and problems accessing the web player. However, the exact scope of the outage is still unclear.

Spotify has yet to officially acknowledge the incident at the time of writing. That means there’s no confirmed cause or estimated time for a fix just yet.

If you’re also unable to stream music, the problem may not be on your end. Waiting for Spotify to resolve the issue is likely the best option if the outage is indeed widespread.

We’ll update this story if Spotify shares more information or service starts returning to normal.
