KB5083825 (Beta) & KB5083822 (Dev) Bring Xbox Mode for Windows 11 Insiders

Xbox Mode Windows 11

Microsoft has wrapped up this week with four new updates for Windows 11 Insiders. Among them one each have landed in the Beta and Dev channels that bumps your system to Build 26220.8148 (KB5083825) and Build 26300.8155 (KB5083822), respectively.

With these builds Microsoft has rolled out Xbox Mode, which it first announced at GDC 2026. The new mode replaces the Xbox full screen experience branding, which was recently spotted in the Xbox app. Speaking of a related change, Microsoft has also added an improved first run experience when entering Xbox mode.

After installing KB5083825 and KB5083822, Dev and Beta testers will also feel subtle haptic feedback on supported input devices while snapping windows, resizing, aligning objects in PowerPoint, or even hovering over the Close button. You can tweak these haptic effects from Settings under Bluetooth & devices > Mouse > Haptic signals.

Last but not least, Microsoft has improved the performance of launching startup apps after boot, specifically those listed under Settings > Apps > Startup. These updates also fix an issue where some apps couldn’t sign in and showed an internal connection error despite an active internet connection and also resolve a crash that was preventing some Insiders from printing on recent builds.

Moreover, Insiders in the Beta channel will now see a new icon which lets to know where a printer supports Windows Protected Print Mode in print settings.
