Square Enix has officially confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 4 will launch on Nintendo Switch 2, with the news revealed during today’s Nintendo Direct alongside a new trailer for the long-awaited sequel. The trailer offered the first updated look at the game in some time, showing a mix of in-engine cinematics and brief gameplay segments featuring Sora, Donald, and Goofy.

While the footage did not include a release date, it confirmed that the game is still in development and actively progressing under the “Lost Master Arc” storyline.

Kingdom Hearts 4 was originally announced in 2022 during the franchise’s 20th anniversary celebrations. Since then, Square Enix has shared very few updates, making today’s reveal one of the most significant looks at the project so far.

While no firm release window was provided, Square Enix confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 4 will release across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, and Nintendo Switch 2.

More details on gameplay systems, story progression, and platform-specific performance are expected in future updates.
