Microsoft’s new Edge Insider browser on Windows 10 currently uses a light theme by default, but Microsoft is changing this in the latest Canary build 76.0.160.0. As spotted by Techdows (via MSPoweruser), Microsoft Edge will now respect your default Windows 10 theme, and automatically enable the dark theme if you did so in system settings.
Previously, Edge Insiders had to go to edge://flags to force the web browser to automatically match their OS theme. However, in the new Canary build 76.0.160.0, you can now set the Microsoft Edge theme flag as “Default” and be assured that the browser will respect your OS theme. As of this writing, this only works on Windows 10 and not on Edge Canary on macOS.
In other Microsoft Edge-related news, the beta version of Microsoft Edge on iOS has been updated today and it can now sync favorites with the Edge Insider browser on Windows 10 and macOS. The Android version of Microsoft Edge was previously updated with this same capability a couple of weeks ago.

The new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge was one of the highlights of Microsoft’s Vision keynote at Build 2019 last week, and we’ve also seen the first macOS builds and beta build for Windows 10 leak during the event. The Microsoft Edge team has yet to announce when a stable version for Windows 10 and macOS will be available, and a Linux version is also not confirmed yet.
