Latest PowerToys Update Includes On-Device AI, Other Upgrades & Plenty of Fixes

Microsoft has dropped PowerToys v0.101.2211.0, and this preview packs several interesting changes for Windows power users. The biggest addition lands in Advanced Paste, which now gets an on-device Phi Silica AI provider. Meanwhile, Command Palette also receives a few performance improvements, while several utilities get smaller fixes.

PowerToys v0.101.2211.0 brings more AI to Advanced Paste

The new Advanced Paste provider runs Phi Silica on the device, according to Microsoft’s release notes. Users also get per-action prompts, provider selection, and additional custom actions for more control. That makes Advanced Paste one of the more notable parts of this preview release.

Command Palette is another major focus, with improvements targeting memory usage, icon loading, dialogs, and overall responsiveness. Microsoft also improved its Performance Monitor dock, including clearer CPU, RAM, and network information.

Network usage is now aggregated across adapters by default, with an option to select a preferred adapter. The update also reduces unnecessary refresh work and improves cleanup when commands or extensions change.

Window management gets several shutdown improvements across FancyZones, Grab And Move, and Always On Top. Always On Top now renders a solid border when opacity reaches 100 percent.

Mouse Jump has also moved to the newer WinUI architecture, replacing its remaining WinForms interface. Settings now includes an Update channel selector for Stable and Insider builds. A guided Bug Report flow also makes reporting problems easier.

Quick Accent now cancels press-and-hold activation more cleanly when another key is pressed. Moreover, Microsoft has also introduced dedicated preview versioning and update-channel support.
