League of Legends Ranked Queues Disabled as Split Ends, Riot Confirms

League of Legends players trying to jump into Ranked today have hit an unexpected roadblock. Riot Games has temporarily disabled Ranked queues following the end of the latest competitive split, leaving matchmaking unavailable for now.

Riot temporarily disables Ranked queues

According to Riot Games’ Service Status page, the current Ranked split officially ended on July 29 at 12:29 GMT+5:30. As a result, Ranked queues have been taken offline while Riot prepares the transition to the next phase of the season.

The company says Ranked matchmaking will be re-enabled soon, although it has not shared an exact timeline. Until then, players attempting to queue for Ranked will be unable to start new competitive matches.

The scheduled maintenance currently affects League of Legends on Windows and macOS. Other game modes remain available unless separately impacted by additional maintenance or regional issues.

Don’t mistake this for a server outage

The timing of the announcement has prompted some players to wonder whether League of Legends is down. However, Riot has classified this as a planned service change linked directly to the Ranked split ending rather than an unexpected outage.
