League of Legends Was Down for Thousands, Server Connection Issue Now Resolved

If you had problems connecting to League of Legends earlier today, it wasn’t just you. Thousands of players reported issues with the game on Tuesday, according to Downdetector.com. As reported by GV Wire, at around 4:30 PM PT, over 7,000 users reported issues with server connection, hinting that the outage was widespread.

Riot Games confirmed League of Legends players were having server connection issues, but it’s now fixed

Riot Games, the studio behind the title, didn’t acknowledge the issue initially, but reports from Redditors also kept pouring in. The studio reportedly took to the League of Legends subreddit to confirm it. Per the news outlet, Riot Games noted, “Hey everyone! We’re aware of an outage right now, and the team is working on a fix!”

In a statement to the news outlet, Riot confirmed no additional details were available at the time. That said, user reports started slowing afterward. At the time of writing, the issue appears to have been fixed by Riot Games. The screenshot from Downdetector reflects the same thing.

Not the first outage of 2026

This isn’t the first time League of Legends players have faced widespread issues. Earlier this year, in January, over 7,700 user reports were recorded, with most claiming login problems and frozen clients. Users from North America, Europe, and parts of Asia were affected by that outage at the time.
