Lenovo's new IdeaPad and Flex laptops target back-to-school season

Lenovo unveiled a range of new laptops aimed at students who are in search of a notebook for the back to school festivities in the U.S. The IdeaPad 720, 520, and 320 and IdeaPad 720S, 520S and 320S in S (Slim) configs, Lenovo Flex 5 14-inch, and Lenovo Flex 5 15-inch are the new laptops that have been released and will arrive with enhanced design features.

Meet the IdeaPads

The IdeaPad 720S uses a premium anodized aluminum casing for a beautifully ultra-thin profile that also feels great. The company also redesigned the keyboard layout for a better typing experience. The device will arrive with narrower bezels and a better screen display along with providing an enhanced input experience through its Precision Touchpad.

You will be able to configure the device with up to the latest 7th-gen Intel Core i7 processor along with a Thunderbolt port up to 1TB PCIe SSD. The device will also sport an optional fingerprint reader and Windows Hello support for accurate and safe logins. Another great feature of the 720S is its “always-on charging” which means that you can plug your mobile device into the notebook to charge it up.

Lenovo also announced its new IdeaPad 320 and IdeaPad 320S models, the first of which will arrive in 15-inch and 17-inch variants and the latter in a slimmer 14-inch and 15.6-inch variant. The will both run Core i7 Kaby Lake processors with integrated graphics on the 320 and the GeForce 940MX with the 320S.

The IdeaPad 520S is 19.3mm thin and both the 520 and the 520 models can be configured with up to 7th-gen Intel Core i7 processors.

Get the Flex appeal

Lenovo also launched a new 2-in-1 device in the form of a Lenovo Flex 5 that will arrive in 14-inch and 15.6-inch versions with a 360-degree hinge, allowing the convertible to be used in laptop, stand, tent, and tablet modes.

These machines will also run 7th gen Core i7 Kaby Lake processors backed up with 16 GB of DDR4 system memory and GeForce 940MX graphics. The storage will come in the form of a PCIe SSD and a hard drive of max 512GB and 1TB. There will be an option for a 4K display with the 15.6-inch model.

Lenovo IdeaPad and Flex pricing and availability

The 14-inch IdeaPad 720S ($969.99), the 14-inch IdeaPad 320S ($739.99), the 15-inch IdeaPad 320S ($749.99), the 15-inch IdeaPad 320 ($439.99), and the 17-inch IdeaPad 320 ($489.99) will all be available starting June 2017.

The 14-inch Lenovo Flex 5 ($719.99) and the 15-inch Lenovo Flex 5 ($829.99) will be available starting May 2017.
