Meta Reportedly Developing AI Version of Mark Zuckerberg to Interact with Employees

The company appears to be leading its AI push from within its walls

Last month, we reported about Mark Zuckerberg developing a custom AI agent to help him handle his daily duties as CEO. Now, some extra details about the project have been reported online. According to the Financial Times, the company is building a photorealistic AI avatar of Mark Zuckerberg that could interact directly with employees (via Econotimes).

Meta reportedly building AI version of Zuckerberg

According to sources cited in FT’s report, the AI version of Mark Zuckerberg is being developed using advanced 3D modeling and real-time interaction systems. The idea here is to allow Zuckerberg’s avatar to communicate with employees in a way that feels close to the real person.

Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly also involved in developing the system. The AI is said to be trained on his speaking style, behavior patterns, and past public statements. It may also reflect his current thinking on Meta’s strategy, which could allow it to respond to internal queries with relevant context.

With Meta pouring billions of dollars into AI, the company wants to lead the charge starting from inside its company’s walls. Rather than relying only on traditional communication channels, Meta could be trying to replicate executive presence at scale. For a company with a global workforce, that could change how information is channeled across teams.

Earlier this year, Zuckerberg, in its earnings call, hinted that Meta is going all in with its AI efforts. That includes release of multiple AI models, including Avocado, which has reportedly been delayed due to performance issues. Apart from that, the company is also working on multiple AI tools that it plans to launch this year.

All that said, there are still questions about how employees would respond to an AI version of leadership, or how closely it could mirror real decision-making.
