Microsoft 365 Outage Knocks Down Outlook, Teams, Store, and Azure for Many

Microsoft 365 users are facing major service disruption at this point. Reports for Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Store, and Azure have suddenly shot far above their normal baselines, according to outage tracking site, Downdetector.

Outlook outage leaves thousands stranded

Microsoft Outlook is the one affected the most, according to the Downdetector. User reports jumped 5,733 at 11:08 PM, compared with a baseline of just 32. Users have reported trouble accessing Outlook and sending or receiving emails.

Microsoft Teams is seeing a smaller but noticeable surge. The supplied Downdetector graph shows 188 reports at 10:39 PM, against a baseline of 13. The Microsoft Store is also caught in the mess. Reports climbed to 380 at 11:38 PM, while its normal baseline sits around 10.

Azure is showing another significant spike in issues. The supplied chart records 304 reports at 11:37 PM, compared with a baseline of only seven.

Microsoft 365 outage spreads across multiple services

The timing is interesting because several Microsoft services are seeing elevated user reports simultaneously. Microsoft’s official service information doesn’t currently appear to confirm a platform-wide outage. Teams has also had separate service issues recently, including sign-in problems reported last week.

In the latest update shared on a thread post on X, Microsoft said, “We’ve identified an issue with an authentication component which is contributing to impact. To address this, we’ve developed a remediation strategy and we’re applying it to a portion of infrastructure to test its efficacy. Once we’ve confirmed this resolves impact, we’ll apply the solution more broadly.”
