Microsoft’s problem with outages isn’t a new thing. We often hear about some other service going offline, making users fume over the company. Yesterday, a major outage affected Microsoft 365 services. Users couldn’t send messages, access emails, or use key collaboration tools across Teams, Outlook, and others.
The company fixed a major outage that affected Microsoft 365 users for hours
Yesterday, Microsoft acknowledged the issue via its official Microsoft 365 Status X handle. The company said it was actively investigating the problem, with updates being provided through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center under issue ID “MO888473.” Â
Well, the good news is that the company has fixed the major outage that caused Microsoft 365 services to be unusable for some hours.
The company’s official Microsoft 365 Status on X handle noted, “We’ve completed rerouting requests to alternate healthy infrastructure, and after a period of monitoring, we’ve determined the impact is now mitigated. For more information, please see MO1068615 in the admin center.”

We recommend that users check the Microsoft 365 Service Health Dashboard to stay updated on similar outages in the future. You can also follow @MSFT365Status on X (formerly Twitter). Additionally, users can monitor service health and report issues through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Not to forget, in September last year, a similar incident affected over 20,000 Microsoft 365 users.
