Microsoft Adds 13 More Games to Xbox Handheld Support Program
Handheld lineup grows with 5 optimized and 8 compatible Xbox games
Microsoft is continuing its push into handheld gaming by adding support for 13 more titles on the Xbox Store, according to True Achievements. The update improves compatibility for devices like the ASUS ROG Ally and ASUS ROG Ally X.
The company is classifying games into two categories to help users understand performance and usability. Titles labeled as “Handheld Optimized” run smoothly out of the box, while “Handheld Compatible” games may require minor tweaks to deliver a good experience.
Handheld gaming support keeps growing
The new Handheld Optimized titles include Aliens: Dark Descent, Atomic Owl, Clean Up Earth, Haste, and Revenge On Gold Diggers. These games should offer a seamless experience without additional setup.
Meanwhile, the Handheld Compatible list expands with titles like ACA NEOGEO METAL SLUG 4, Beautiful Sakura: Volleyball Club 2 (Windows), Dark Light, Hole Digging Master, Hoof and Seek, John Fart: Text-iverse of Crazyness, Kamikaze Lassplanes, and Meow Moments: Celebrating Myth & Machine. These may need adjustments such as control remapping or performance tweaks.
Xbox handheld strategy becomes clearer
This move highlights Microsoft’s ongoing effort to make Xbox content more accessible across portable gaming devices. By clearly labeling compatibility levels, the company is giving players better insight into what to expect before downloading a game.
With the Microsoft Spring Sale 2026 currently underway, many of these titles are likely available at discounted prices, making it an ideal time for handheld gamers to expand their libraries.
In other handheld-related developments, the Legion Go 2 is reportedly priced significantly higher than devices like the Xbox Ally X, while rumors suggest that a Steam Deck successor may not arrive until 2028.
