The Office team has announced today that Microsoft’s enterprise social networking service Yammer is getting new document and file integrations to improve collaborations within teams. This announcement comes just a few days after the company announced Yammer’s closer integration with Office 365 Groups at the enterprise focused Ignite conference.
Firstly, users will now be allowed to create Office documents within Yammer and share them with their teams. Co-workers will be able to edit documents, view version history and share and discuss them with their colleagues.
An improved file picker will also let users easily share files from their Office 365 SharePoint Document Libraries or personal OneDrive for Business files on Yammer, you can see it in action below:
Additionally, the Office team has improved the sharing experience on the enterprise networking service by adding file, link and image previews that display more information in a Yammer feed:
Lastly, connecting Yammer to Office 365 Groups will allow users to share any content from the Office suite to Yammer Groups.

All these new Yammer features have started to roll out today and will become available to all users in the coming weeks. If you use Yammer, let us know in the comments if these features will make the enterprise social network more useful for you.
