Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen receives a couple custom Seahawks type covers

Most people would know that Bill Gates was the founder of Microsoft, but less know of his co-founder Paul Allen. While Bill Gates still has some connection to Microsoft, Paul Allen has mostly moved on to other enterprises — most popular of which may be owning the Seattle Seahawks. Paul Allen’s Microsoft history has some to do with how the company advertises and partners with the football team.

This weekend Paul Allen tweeted a photo of custom Surface 3 Type covers. The custom covers sported the Seattle Seahawks name on one and the logo on the other. The design looks nice and seems like a simple way Surface owners could further personalize their devices. So far there is no word on any wider availably of customized covers.

These custom covers may remind Surface followers of the original promise behind the Surface covers called ‘blades.’ Around the launch of the original Surface, Microsoft said there could be different covers for different applications, but only a music remix cover was shown and nothing else. There has been little from Microsoft on the topic for several generations of the tablet, however, the extensibility still remains.
