The Collections feature for Microsoft Edge has just received a new update for anyone testing out the Microsoft Edge Canary channel. Microsoft has recently added two new options in the Collection menu to sort items by date and name (both in ascending or descending order) (via Reddit).

Collections have been available to testers for a while now, but users had to manually sort the items in a collection by using drag and drop. Now, the new feature makes it easier to find items on your list, and it’s enabled by default in Microsoft Edge Canary Build 86.0.614.0. If you want to try out the new sorting functionality, you need to follow a couple of steps listed below:

  1. Open the collections menu, click the Ellipse (…) icon to open the “Sharing and more” dropdown list.
  2. Select “Sort by Date created” or “Sort by name” (based on your specific preferences) to sort automatically sort all entries in your Collection.
  3. You can now use the arrow icon (as shown below) to sort them in “ascending” and “descending” order if you want.

Collections, as the name suggests, offers a way to grab images, websites, and more from the internet and organize them into collections. Users can perform different actions on them such as highlighting specific content, adding notes, and exporting to OneNote when needed. Do you like the new sorting capability in Microsoft Edge?
