Microsoft Clipchamp timestamps

Microsoft has released dozens of new features to Clipchamp, its native video editing tool, recently, including a light/dark mode option that allows users to have more flexibility when editing videos; however, the Redmond-based tech giant is also introducing another useful capability: the ability to edit videos using timestamps.

What does this mean? Well, according to the official announcement, you’ll only need to hover over the timeline with the cursor, and Clipchamp will show the timestamp where you are in the video.

The trimming items from the left handle will automatically display the item’s start time, and trimming from the proper handle will display the clip duration.

It should make it easier to edit videos precisely without wasting too much time finding the right time (pun intended). In other words, editing videos with Clipchamp will be faster.

Microsoft is also making Clipchamp cleaner, and by this, we mean a simplistic and beginner-friendly UI that aims to allow everyone to edit videos, regardless of their experience. The Redmond-based tech giant has collapsed the sidebar and timeline, has added zoom in and out in the timeline, has set up the full-screen mode, has added undo and redo actions, has changed the aspects ratio of a video, and has added AI captions to the video.

Ultimately, another useful ability coming to Clipchamp is the improved asset grouping, allowing users to select multiple elements, music, text, and visuals and group them into one track item.

Microsoft says all of the new features are rolling out to users with a Clipchamp personal account starting this month, while those with a Work account will have access to them starting in March.
