Microsoft Exchange Faces Another Outage, the Company Investigates

Microsoft is currently facing a widespread outage affecting Office.com and Exchange Online. The disruption has left many users unable to access their mailboxes, calendars, and other essential productivity tools through various connection protocols.

Microsoft Exchange’s online services are disrupted

The issue surfaced early in the morning and quickly impacted Outlook on the web, the Outlook desktop app, and Exchange ActiveSync for users across the USA and other regions. Microsoft officially acknowledged the problem on social media, pointing administrators to their health dashboard for updates.

“We’re investigating reports of some users experiencing issues when accessing their Exchange Online mailbox via one or more connection methods,” the official @MSFT365Status account posted on X. “More information may be found in the Microsoft 365 admin center under EX1253275.”

The company also confirmed a separate outage affecting the Microsoft 365 Copilot web portal, leaving individuals unable to access Copilot web clients. Microsoft advised users to rely on local desktop apps or the Teams integration while engineers work on a fix.

Microsoft says the issue is fixed, but several users are still facing it

Microsoft recently stated that internal telemetry shows the system is recovering and the issue is no longer occurring for affected users. The ground reality looks different. While Microsoft claims it has fixed the issue, we are still facing problems accessing the Office.com website.

Microsoft Exchange down

Attempting to load the portal currently results in an error message telling users something went wrong and asking them to refresh the page in a few minutes. This marks another instance of Microsoft 365 services going down, following similar Exchange Online outages that blocked email access in January and last November.
